Everything about Sprout — before and after you sign up.
Before you sign up
What exactly is this?+
Sprout texts you what you spent — every morning you get yesterday's total, your top charges, and your month-to-date. There's no app to open. You reply to a text to dig in.
Is it safe to connect my bank?+
Yes. You link your card through Teller, the same bank-grade connection used by other fintech apps. We never see your bank username or password, the access is read-only, and the access token is encrypted at rest.
Do you sell my data?+
No. We never sell your data. We store only what's needed to text you your spending (your transactions, the last 4 digits of your card, and your phone number).
What does it cost?+
$9/month or $80/year, after a 3-day free trial. Cancel anytime.
Do I have to download an app?+
No — that's the whole point. Sprout lives in your text messages. There's an optional web dashboard if you ever want charts, but you never have to open anything.
Which banks work?+
Most major U.S. banks and credit cards are supported through Teller. You'll see your bank in the list when you link.
How fast do I get value?+
Seconds. The moment you link a card we text you your most recent day of spending, then you get a summary every morning at 8am your time.
Once you're in
How do I see all of yesterday's charges?+
Reply ALL to any text and you'll get every charge from the reported day, with pending charges tagged.
How do I see a category breakdown?+
Reply BREAK for this month by category, or BREAK DAY for just yesterday.
A charge looks wrong or is missing — why?+
Pending charges (like a gas-station hold) can show a temporary amount, then update or disappear when they post. Your totals automatically self-correct as charges settle. Reply ALL to see what's pending.
Can I link more than one card or bank?+
Yes. Reply ADD anytime to securely link another bank or card.
How do I pause the daily texts?+
Reply PAUSE to stop the daily summary and RESUME to turn it back on. You'll still get replies when you text a command.
How do I manage or cancel my plan?+
Reply CANCEL (or WEB to open your dashboard) to manage billing. Reply STOP to opt out of all messages entirely.
What happens to my data if I cancel?+
When you cancel we delete your Teller connection (so we stop accessing your bank) and purge your data.
How do I get help?+
Reply HELP at any time for the list of commands.
